Hazardous properties: Flammable in the presence of open flames or high temperatures.
Hazardous combustion products: carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide.
Fire-extinguishing methods: Firefighters must wear self-contained breathing apparatus and full-body fire suits, and extinguish the fire from an upwind position. Whenever possible, move containers away from the fire to an open area. Apply water spray to keep containers at the fire scene cooled until the fire is fully extinguished. If containers at the fire scene have discolored or are emitting sounds from their safety relief devices, immediate evacuation is required.
Extinguishing agents: misted water, foam, dry powder, carbon dioxide, sand and earth.
